Recently, the List of the Sixth Batch of Representative Inheritors of Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage in Hubei Province was unveiled. Jingzhou has seven on the List.

The Sixth Batch of Representative Inheritors of Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage in Hubei Province are divided into several categories including folk literature, traditional music, traditional dance, traditional drama, folk art, traditional sports, entertainment and acrobatics, traditional fine art, traditional skills, traditional medicine, folk customs, etc. The seven inheritors from Jingzhou are Shen Ping, inheritor of Shuiguzi, Zeng Keping, inheritor of Three Kingdoms Legend (Shishou’s Three Kingdoms Legend), Wang Shuwen, inheritor of Sanyuan Legend, Tang Yongcai, inheritor of Jingzhou Huagu Opera, Yang Liyou, inheritor of pottery firing skills (Yingcheng clay pottery), Huang Youzhi, inheritor of bamboo slips-making skills (Chu-based bamboo slips-making skills), and Wan Xiang, inheritor of traditional Chinese fiddle skills (Chu-based fiddle skills).

Currently, Jingzhou has 4 national representative inheritors, 32 provincial representative inheritors and 68 municipal representative inheritors, according to a source.
